after a quick holiday, Elliott's getting stuck back in to his album.
trying to organise a mix date... hopefully soon with Wayne Conolly, (legend)
Elliot and I have also been very busy preparing for the Bonettes residency starting this Sunday. The girls and I have been working on it for 3 months. Phew, about time we got singing tho!
Apart from all these happenings, All's well at Myrtle St, busy busy...

The Chaser

After a busy couple of months, Elliott's started doing the music for the Chaser's 4th season at war with everything.
The first ep aired last night, which is very exciting.
9 more weeks to go, we're going to try and get down and see the filming one week.
In the meantime, finish Elliott's album and work on some other music stuff.
A big month in music coming up, trying to get tix to Eno's festival and support FBI as much as possible.

...and there she is! we rented this vintage RCA pre for the job too, it's got such beautiful tone control and a slight valve distortion, which sounds great.

Caitlin Park

Caitlin Park came in that evening and finished off the lead vocals with Steve, the track was still sounding pretty bare-bones at this point...
Elliott spent the next day (Friday) laying all the percussion (including an instrument we've dubbed as the 'manual whomper' - basically a kick drum played by hand, ow) also his chair played with brushes. We recorded everything through an old 30's pre-amp with valve and ribbon mics.

Earth Hour II

The following afternoon, Elliott was doing a lecture down at AIM on Screen Composition. We took the opportunity to get the class to sing on the choruses. We got some great results (you can hear them from the 2nd chorus). They were all terribly good sports, (and fast learners)

After Elliott finished writing the track, Steve Smyth came in to sing, he stayed very late on Wednesday night, like a trooper, even though he had work early the next morning...

Myrtle Street Connection is bunch of friends and muso types who get together on Myrtle St. Founding members Elliott Wheeler and Emma Hoy are usually lurking around on most tracks. Andy Calvert from Wifey dropped by to sing on the the first release, 'Moving on'. Much more coming soon.
